  • The Video Surveillance Market In 2012

    In the face of global recession this past year, the security and video surveillance industries continue to remain unaffected and even growing. According to IMS Research, the demand for CCTV and video surveillance equipment should remain strong throughout 2012, with potential growth for the surveillance equipment market predicted to exceed 25 percent (Security Products Magazine, 2011). In 2010, analog sales were notably low, but leaps and bounds made in network video surveillance technology caused the market that year to increase by more than 30 percent.

    Lucky SupermarketLucky Supermarket chain released a notice on November 23rd this year that 20 of their northern Californian stores were infiltrated by thieves who inserted data-skimming devices into payment card readers at Lucky’s self-checkout counters – stealing card information from as many as 500 grocery store customers, putting their bank accounts in jeopardy (ABC, 2011).
